Arsenal vs Wigan match ratings and comments

Arsenal 3 : 0 Wigan
(van Persie 21,58,85)

An astonishing hat-trick by Robin Van Persie guaranteed Arsenal a 3 points at home against Wigan Athletic. With that result we are now 2 points behind Manchester United having played 1 more game than them. Below are my ratings for the players:

Szczesny (6) - Virtual spectator
Clichy (6.5) - Nothing unusual.
Djourou (7) - Solid display. The lad takes every chance he is given to reassure us, fans, that he is ready for the first team. Vermaelen's come back should make our center backs rock solid.
Koscielny (6.5) Solid.
Sagna (6.5) - Ran the right side of the pitch up and down.
Song (8) - intercepted a lot of passes, broke down a couple of attacks, or attempts to create one. His solid defensive display was complemented with great going forward.
Wilshere (6.5) - Great potential, however still lacks experience.
Fabregas (8) - Great assists. Even when he doesn't have a godly season, he is still essential for the team.
Walcott (7) - His pace against weaker teams is devastating.
Nasri (7) - Tireless.
Van Persie (9) - A fit, in-form Van Persie is a powerhouse, the best striker in the Premierleague. Not only is he gifted but also possesses an intelligent footballing mind. Chamakh will have to work hard to earn a place in the starting team. Would have been a 10 if he didn't miss that penalty.

With such a form, our game against Ipswich on Tuesday should not be a problem. We are serious contenders in all four competitions we're in. With Van Persie staying fit, we might lift some trophies this year. Keep the faith.
